What is Temporary Resident Visa (TRV)?
Temporary Resident Visa is a Canadian government-issued counterfoil document. It is also known as a guest visa or an admission visa. This document permits foreign nationals to visit Canada for a limited time. It is an official document that will be included in the passport to demonstrate that the individual has satisfied all of the conditions for entry into Canada. Depending on the cause for the travel, visa processing might take anywhere from two to three weeks.
Immigrants and foreign nationals can apply online using their MYCIC account, or they can hire a professional immigration counsellor to help them with the application procedure. Why? It is preferable to work with an immigration expert because they are well-versed in the procedure. Furthermore, when you apply on your own, there is a potential that you may make an error on the application. If there is a mistake, the application will be refused, and you will not be able to apply again for the following five years.

How To Apply For Your Temporary Resident Visa For Canada?
Applicants must complete a series of processes to apply for a Temporary Resident Visa in Canada. You can apply for the TRV in one of two ways:
- Application through the internet;
- Application in person;
Because most application procedures are being computerized, you should strive to apply online if at all feasible. Even if you apply online, you must appear in person if the Consulate demands an interview or your biometrics. If you apply in person, you will need to come to the Consulate several times to finish the procedure.
The following are the steps in the TRV application process:
Verify Your eligibility for Temporary Resident Visa Canada
You must go to the Immigration tab on the Government of Canada’s website. Then select Visit from the drop-down menu. You’ll find a link that says “Find out if you need a visa” when you go to the website. When you click on the link, you’ll be sent to a survey.
You must be honest when answering the questions and choose the purpose for your visit. Your responses will be analyzed to see if you require a Temporary Resident visa, if you are qualified, or if you merely require an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA).
If you qualify for a Temporary Visitor Visa, the website will take you to the application process. You may apply either online or in person, and with the growing digitization of visa applications, applying online is significantly easier. You’ll be given a reference number and a checklist of what you need to do to apply after answering a few more questions on the “Determine your eligibility and apply online” form.
Make a user account
You must first save the reference code before registering on the same Government of Canada website. You may either use your bank account information or a Government of Canada login to establish an account (GCKey). You may begin using your application after you’ve logged in.
Fill out and submit the application
To access your responses to the questionnaire and the forms you need to fill out, use your referral code.
Wait for the processing to complete, then answer any more information requests
It will take around 5 days for your application to appear on your account once you submit it. The application will be processed by the Canadian Consulate in the coming weeks. They may ask you for a visa interview and provide your biometric details if they believe it is essential.
If this happens, you must show up for the interview on time and honestly answer all of the questions.
Please Send Your Passport to be Stamped
Your online account will be notified after your Canada Temporary Resident Visa is accepted, or the Embassy will notify you once the interview is completed. After that, you’ll need to send your passport in for stamping and processing.
If you’ve completed all of the steps online, the Embassy will send you an email with information on how to deliver your passport. You must ship the passport, together with the processing costs and a return envelope. If you visit the Embassy in person, you will pay the costs and hand over your passport to the Consular Officer.
Your passport will be processed, stamped, and returned to you by the Consulate. If they ship it back, it will take a few days to arrive, but after that, you may start planning your trip to Canada.
