Family Visa FAQ

Who is eligible to sponsor their family members?

An individual who is a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident of Canada and is over 18 years of age having the necessary income in the past 12 months and is able to provide basic requirements to the persons being sponsored may sponsor their family members.

Who can be sponsored?

Parents

Grandparents

Brothers or sisters of 22 years old and below, if they are above 22 they have to be enrolled in full time studies

Nephews or nieces

Granddaughters or grandsons that are orphaned under 18 years old and are not married

Relatives of parents

Who cannot be sponsored?

Brothers and sisters who are 22 and above and are not enrolled in full time studies. However, they may apply on their own according to what category they are eligible in.
